After a friend recommended going to this small, old town, one Saturday we finally got around to doing it. We planned the whole morning around it. utah2ndb-day-034sFigured we would check it out, walk around and then eat lunch there all before Lincoln’s nap. We got there around 9 in the morning and left around 10:30. It’s a really small town. It was absolutely beautiful though.

I definitely recommend it to any of my Tennessee buds who need something to do on weekends. It’s a great place to take pictures too.

If you love antiques, this is a great place to go.

It’s that time of year again for B-days.  Happy Birthday to Lincoln, Zac, Ethan, Brigon, me, Keaton in a couple of weeks and Kaleb a couple weeks ago.

utah2ndb-day-081s2Lincoln and I flew out to Utah for about a week to visit, celebrate and take advantage of Lincoln still be a lap child and not paying for an extra ticket yet.  We had a good time. We played with cousins, played lots of pool, went to the Dinosaur  Museum, ate lots of burgers and fries and then ended with a Birthday party for all the kids.

It was like Christmas again.

Boxes seemed to be more entertaining than any of the presents. Of course.

They didn’t really get chicken fights. Plus, there was a bit of a height difference.

Here are a few more of my favorite pictures. (click to enlarge)

This is a video that Grammy and Popa recorded from Christmas and had on their blog. I had to steal it. Sorry. I had to.

Dust & salsa. Probably a lot more than that. Most cowboys in Nashville have a guitar instead of a horse.

While we were in El Paso, Jeff and I were lucky to have grandparents willing to watch Lincoln and get away for a bit. We went up to see La Mesilla in New Mexico. It was like Jackson Hole but smaller and less touristy. And a lot more Spanish looking. It was really fun. We ate at this restaurant which used to be this huge royal house and is now haunted. Billy the Kid used to rummage through the town and was also tried there.

Below is the view from Jeff and Robin’s house. It was really beautiful. And really windy. I was pleasantly surprised at how neat El Paso was.

Christmas Eve both Ethan and Lincoln got a special treat. A Sombrero hat. What’s Christmas in El Paso without a Sombrero hat.

All of us in our matching P.J.s Christmas Eve.  Don’t worry Alex, you’ll match next year.

Santa came to visit the boys. Jeff taught Lincoln the wrong words to “Jingle Bells” so Lincoln says “ho ho all the way” when ever he sees Santa.

Mike, Jen and Ethan.

The boys.

The girls. Can you tell by the hair who the in-law is?

Mike’s guilty face.

Lincoln had quite the appetite at Grammy and Popa’s. Grandparents always have the best food. OK we all had quite the appetite. Here he is with a powdered doughnut.

After the powdered doughnut.

And I leave with you with the moneyshot. Feel free to frame.

These are pictures that showed Lincoln’s true colors that day. But we still love them so much.  We’ve been told he looks like a thug in the picture above.

Sara would ask him to come sit with us and he would sit 5 feet away. Stinker.

It was amazing that we got him to sit still for any of the pictures. This is what he was doing most of the time. Who knew benches could be so much fun?

We were going to end right here, but I told Sara to go ahead and take the picture. And yes, I will pull the picture out 20 years from now and show all his friends!

Awww family picture time. Actually these are our first family pictures. It was actually really stressful. So I was really excited to get the pictures done and have that stress lifted. Right? Isn’t that how it goes? Lincoln has never skipped a nap. Then he decides to skip his nap on picture day. I have never seen him act like this ever. When we got home and I figured we would have to re shoot. So…when Sara posted the pictures, I was so relieved. I love the pictures and you can hardly tell that Lincoln was in a bad mood that day. (I’ll post the bad mood ones later).

3 Times this last couple of weeks, people have mistaken my boy for a girl. I got to tell ya, I’m not seeing it. Is it the eyelashes? That’s just downright unfair, but I wouldn’t say he looks like a girl.

These are pictures that my friend Wendy took this morning at the Primary activity. I didn’t even know she was taking some of them, but I’m glad she did.

Thanksgiving was in Utah this year, and it was a “on” year for everyone else too, so it was a BIG party! Which I loved! I’m not trying to be cheesy cause I’m writing a blog, but it was really fun. I love having my whole family there with my cousins and aunts and uncles. I didn’t think to whip out the camera till after a few people had already gone home. So missing in action is Brigon and Stephanie and Adam and Nikki. But I got the rest.

This is all the cousins. Clockwise left to right is Sarah holding Jack, Austin holding Oliver, Jeff, Ethan holding Zac, Shannon, Danielle, Emily, Jessica, Ryan, Jim holding Kaleb, Joelle, Jason holding Keaton, Alysha holding Adelle, Trevor and Skyler. I’m somewhere in the middle holding an upset Lincoln.

This week, Jeff became an official member of the bar.  You can pinpoint the exact moment Jeff became a lawyer in the above video.  As if four years of college, three years of law school, countless hours of studying, mounds of paper work, a background check, an interview, and the bar exam weren’t enough – Jeff now had to appear before the Supreme Court and be admitted on motion.  Then, after everyone was admitted, the new attorneys were sworn in by the Justices with an oath to protect and defend the Constiution.

Congratulations, Daddy, you’re bona fide!

And, finally, no post would be complete without a full-sized Lincoln picture.

I'd say that Lincoln has a pretty good life.

I'd say that Lincoln has a pretty good life...

I’m sure many of you have wondered what it is like to spend an entire day with Lincoln.  Well, you’re in luck because I’ve recently followed Lincoln around all day and took pictures of many of his daily activities.  Here is Lincoln’s usual everyday schedule…

(Click on the pictures to enlarge).

8:00 – wake up and play with Thomas the choo choo while Dad gets ready for work and Mom makes some breakfast.

9:30 – After breakfast, and taking Dad to work, we come home and do a little home repair (Lincoln is such a handy man) then Lincoln takes a bath.

10:00 – We run errands, play at the park, or play at the gym. (whatever the weather is like, and whatever motivation Mom has)

11:30 – Time for lunch!  Today, Lincoln eats at the big boy table.  Getting too big for that high chair.  Mmmm, grilled cheese sandwich…

3:00 – After Lincoln’s nap, we usually make a daily trip to our neighbors, Lincoln is inlove with Brooklyn and laughs hysterically at Brody. They are the sweetest kids and always draw little pictures for Lincoln.

4:45 – Go pick up Dad from work. This is one of Lincoln’s favorite part of the day.

5:30 – Dad is home now, time for some football.  Lincoln just lounges on the couch and watches his favorite team.  I’ve tried learning this game. I’ve tried. What am I going to do if I end up having all boys?

5:45- He didn’t like that call! He literally talks to the t.v.

5:46 – Lincoln gets a little too close to the T.V. set while leaning over the edge (see above picture) and takes a dive.  He’s upset for a bit, but shakes it off like a man.  (Jeff made me put that) He’s a little scraped up though.

6:00 – Dinner. This is why he is shirtless.

6:30 – Time to go crazy!  This is Lincoln pulling his “shocked” face after destroying the house.

6:31  We don’t know what face this is.

6:45 – Getting ready for bed.  He may not be potty trained, but he’s learned to change and dispose of his own diaper.  Way to go, Lincoln.

6:50 – Brush, brush, brush.  Brush, brush, brush.  Brush your teee-eeth!

7:00 – Time to play with Dad before bedtime.  Usually, this is storytime where Mom or Dad reads Lincoln a book.

7:10 – OK, Mom, enough with the camera, I want to go to bed!

7:15 – Good night, Daddy!

Jeff (as MacGuyver), Lincoln (as a frog), Chemenn (as a Spanish Dancer)

Tonight was the ward trunk-or-treat Halloween party.  We didn’t have matching costumes like last year and just all did our own thing.  Jeff is MacGuyver, Lincoln is a frog, and Chemenn is a Spanish Dancer.

Cast your ballot for your Presidential choice:

I’ve got to put something new up. Politics is depressing me. I was tagged a while back by my friend Renee who wrote a post about guilty pleasures. I have quite a few, but I’ll try and keep it short.

Movie: Superstar. I used to watch this all the time with my roommates in college. We even memorized the dance and pratically every line in that movie. The story follows Mary Katherine trying to find her place in her Catholic high school. There are a few parts that are questionable I guess. That’s why it’s a guilty pleasure.

T.V. Show: America’s Next Top Model: Stupid Tyra Banks, seriously….is there anybody out there that talks more about herself? ok…maybe, but Tyra is bad. Yet I keep watching her show! I can’t help it. I looooove the pictures they take. Some of them get so wierd, but I just love it. I tell myself no more of Tyra Banks at the end of each season. But I keep coming back.

Clothes: My husband’s clothes. I even wear them out doing errands. I feel like a bum, I look like a bum, but I love how comfy they are and I love the way they smell. So yes, I usually wear the shirt he wore the day before.

Music: Eminem. He’s not my favorite, but he is a guilty pleasure. I just get this certain confidence booster when I listen to him.

Food: Lately I’ve been making a giant pancake and soaking it in syrup. Then I scramble an egg, salt & pepper the heck out of it and roll it up with my pancake and eat it together. mmmmmmm. Seriously, everyday for the past 2 weeks i’ve had that for breakfast. (Maybe lunch too). Really, really guilty pleasure. Ding Dongs.

Restaurant: Dennys. I’m a breakfast lover. So I’ve tried almost every breakfast place out there. Dennys still has the best breakfast. Hands down. I would eat there breakfast, lunch and dinner if I could.

Celebrity Crush: I don’t really have a guilty pleasure celebrity crush. The guy’s I think are cute, most women think are cute. But I will admit this…. I like looking at gossip blogs about celebrities.  I like looking at pictures of them when they are young and without makeup. It makes them seem more normal.  I’m not a star struck person, but guilty as charged, I like reading about thier lives.

OK,  I tag everybody on my list.
